Over the past decade, I have been deeply committed to supporting and affirming LGBTQIA+ individuals. This commitment became even more personal and profound when my son came out as transgender and I came out as a late-in-life lesbian. While these experiences do not make me an expert on their own, they have driven me to focus the majority of my continuing education on gender-affirming care.
Since earning my graduate degree, I have pursued extensive training specifically centered on providing informed, compassionate, and evidence-based support to trans and gender-diverse people. I am qualified to write letters in support of adults or children seeking gender-affirming care, and I do so with thoughtfulness and integrity.
Especially in today’s climate, I am unwavering in my advocacy for trans rights and remain vigilant in my commitment to equity, dignity, and access for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
